Le ressentiment antisyrien s’est de nouveau exprimé violemment dans le nord du Liban, cette fois dans la région de Minieh. Dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche, suite à des altercations violentes entres des jeunes libanais et des ouvriers syriens, le camp de Bhannine abritant soixante-quinze familles a été entièrement incendié. Plusieurs voix se sont élevées pour condamner cet acte. Le grand mufti du Liban, cheikh Abdel Latif Derian, a qualifié ce qui s'est passé de « crime odieux qui mérite une punition sévère de la part de ceux qui ont commis cet acte honteux contre l'humanité», soulignant que «les Syriens déplacés au Liban sont des invités de marque et nous devons les aider et les soutenir jusqu'à leur retour dans leur pays».
