C’est un accord historique entre le Liban et Israël, par l’intermédiaire des Etats-Unis, qui sera conclu prochainement, lit-on dans un article du journal libanais An-Nahar. Sous l’égide des Nations unies, la démarcation des frontières est pour le chef du parlement libanais, Nabih Berri, un espoir de pouvoir payer les dettes du Liban. De son côté, le président du Courant patriotique libre, Gebran Bassil, a déclaré que c’était une nouvelle étape pour que le Liban reprenne ses droits, en négociant « non pas à la manière arabe, ni à la manière persane, mais à la manière libanaise de fermeté et de souplesse : fermeté, par le respect des droits et, souplesse, par la science et la recherche des solutions ». Pour lui, il est question de souveraineté et de ressources pour le Liban. La FINUL a salué cette initiative et a affirmé qu’elle apporterait tout son soutien aux deux parties pour faciliter les efforts qui visent à trouver une solution à ce conflit. De même, l’Organisation des Nations unies a déclaré soutenir « tout accord entre Israël et le Liban visant à consolider la confiance ». Tout en affirmant toujours soutenir l’initiative française au Liban, le secrétaire général du Hezbollah, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, a appelé le président français Emmanuel Macron à réviser son discours sur le Liban, dans la forme et dans le contenu, lui reprochant d’avoir porté atteinte à la dignité nationale des Libanais. « Nous refusons que le président Emmanuel Macron se comporte comme le gouverneur du Liban », a souligné Sayyid Nasrallah, mardi 29 septembre, lors d’un discours retransmis par la chaine Al-Manar. Le chef du Hezbollah a accusé le club des quatre anciens Premiers ministres sunnites ainsi que les Etats-Unis et l’Arabie saoudite d’avoir fait échouer l’initiative française pour sortir le Liban de la crise.

"We refuse to allow President Emmanuel Macron to behave like the governor of Lebanon," said Sayed Nasrallah on Tuesday, September 29, during a speech broadcast by Al-Manar channel. The Hezbollah leader accused the four former Sunni Prime Ministers’club as well as the United States and Saudi Arabia of having derailed the French initiative to get Lebanon out of the crisis.
