Israël et les Emirats arabes unis ont signé un « accord de paix historique » pour normaliser leurs relations, sous l’égide du président américain Donal Trump. Les dirigeants palestiniens ont rejeté et dénoncé cette annonce tripartite « surprenante ». Cet accord est pour eux une trahison d’un pays membre de la Ligue arabe vis-à-vis de Jérusalem et de la cause palestinienne. Hanan Achrawi, l’une des hautes responsables de l’OLP, a tweeté à l’intention du Cheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed al Nayhan le texte suivant : « peut-être que vous n'avez pas souffert du pillage de votre pays, vous ne vous sentez peut-être pas incarcéré sous l'occupation, vous n'avez peut-être pas été témoin de la démolition de votre maison ou de la perte d'un bien-aimé ou vous n'avez peut-être pas été vendu par l'un de vos amis ». Le président égyptien Al-Sissi a de son côté félicité le prince d’Abou Dhabi pour « ce pas historique pour la paix ». Jeudi 13 août, le Dr. Essam el-Erian, l’un des principaux chefs des Frères musulmans, ancien membre du parlement et l’un des fondateurs de l’Organisation égyptienne des droits de l’homme et membre associé de l’Organisation arabe des Droits de l’homme est mort dans la célèbre prison cairote Aqrab. Condamné à la prison à vie suite au coup d’état d’Al-Sissi, il avait été interdit de visite durant six mois, selon son avocat. Son procès avait été dénoncé par les militants des droits de l’homme parce qu’il était motivé politiquement. En Turquie, le porte-parole du ministère des affaires étrangères turc a dénoncé la fermeture systématique depuis 25 ans par la Grèce des écoles appartenant à la minorité turque dans la région de Thrace. Thursday August 13, Dr. Essam el-Erian, one of the main leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, former member of parliament and one of the founders of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights and associate member of the Organization Human Rights Arab died in the famous Cairo prison Aqrab. Sentenced to life in prison following Al-Sisi's coup, he was banned from visitors for six months, according to his lawyer. His trial had been denounced by human rights activists because he was politically motivated. In Turkey, a spokesperson for the Turkish Foreign Ministry denounced the systematic closure for 25 years by Greece of schools belonging to the Turkish minority in the region of Thrace.
