The successive statements of the Catholic bishops gathered within the CENCO on the political situation and the Congolese electoral process have been widely commented on by the Congolese local and national press. In addition, the media outing of the Lay Catholics of the Lay Coordination Committee (CLC) and more broadly of Congolese civil society who call for a condemnation of Rwanda following the climate of insecurity persisting in the East has also dominated Congolese news stories.

À l’issue de son Assemblée générale tenue du 19 au 22 juin 2023, la Conférence épiscopale nationale du Congo a fait le point sur le processus électoral, en prévision des scrutins de décembre 2023. De ces travaux, les prélats catholiques ont produit un communiqué, dans lequel ils déclarent que les efforts fournis jusqu’ici par le gouvernement et la Commission électorale nationale indépendante (CENI) « ne suffisent pas pour l’organisation d'élections réellement crédibles.»

Elections 2023: For CENCO, the electoral process is off to a bad start
At the end of its General Assembly held from 19 to 22 June 2023, the National Episcopal Conference of Congo took stock of the electoral process, in anticipation of the December 2023 elections. Kwamouth community conflict: 12 people convicted of terrorism
Twelve people were sentenced to death for terrorism in the case between the Public Prosecutor's Office and the attackers in Kwamouth, Mai-Ndombe province, by the Bandundu-Bagata-Mai Ndombe Garrison Military Court. Elections 2023: civil society calls for credible, inclusive and transparent elections
In a general statement read on Saturday, June 24, civil society organizations, meeting for two days at the Center for Studies for Social Action (CEPAS), called for general mobilization for "credible, inclusive and transparent elections in the country".
